The beautiful wood craftsmanship throughout Le Passage is the work of master craftsman Yang Guiqiang and his team. Mr. Yang hails from Nantong which is known for its rich carpentry heritage. This expertise was critical in the building design. An integral design element at Le Passage; the floors, beams, and even window frames use salvaged wood from houses built in the early 20th century in Northeast China. Truly a master craftsman, Master Yang has over 40 years of experience in carpentry and started his apprenticeship at the age of 16. After a long day at work, Master Yang relaxes with a glass of huangjiu (rice wine).
